The first major custom motor yacht project Ron Holland was involved with was the 151 ft / 46 m Affinity (1999), a very successful exterior design styling collaboration with the Delta Design team in Seattle.
2007 saw the launch of the highly innovative 150 ft / 45.7 m award winning Marco Polo, featured by The Yacht Report as one of the year’s significant launches and winner of the 2008 ShowBoats International award for "Best New Series over 40 Meters".
Most noted among Marco Polo’s many original design features is the single-engine configuration, complemented by a dual-purpose Schottel bow-thruster / secondary propulsion unit. This set-up offers exceptional fuel efficiency and range without compromising performance, redundancy or manoeuvrability.
Ron Holland Design's particular experience and expertise allows its designers to break free from tradition to design fine, seaworthy motor yachts that are fuel-efficient, cost-effective to build and attractive to own and operate.
At present, two unique motor yacht design projects are in the design and construction process: a 45m steel hull, aluminium superstructure, twin propellor project, currently under construction; and a design collaboration with Canadian shipyard, Crescent Custom Yachts for a 148 ft composite semi-displacement motor yacht capable of 20 knots. | | Affinity
